The X Factor Philippines
results night for week 4 leaves us with the top 8 remaining contestants and a
shocking way to send one contestant home.
Performance
But before anything else,
as always, the show starts with an opening performance from Angeline Quinto with
the top 9 contenders. If you can recall, Angeline won the Star Power search for
the next female pop superstar from Sharon Cuneta’s defunct show.
Announcements
Right after the
performance of the night and a commercial break was the announcement of the
acts that were safe. The names were announced in this order:
- Allen Jane Sta. Maria
- Daddy's Home
- Joan Da
- Jeric Medina
- Gabriel Maturan
Additional names were mentioned after
yet another break:
- KZ Tandingan
- Kedebon Colim
Bottom 2
So the bottom 2 acts were:
- · Takeoff
- · Modesto Taran
Modesto sang "You'll Never Find another
Love like Mine" by Lou Rawls while Take Off chose "Flying without
Wings” by Westlife.
Shocking revelation
It’s a shocking revelation. I thought
the judges are going to play it safe again and hit a deadlock but they didn’t.
Also, I was resolved that it would be Take Off which will be sent home because
they have been in the bottom 2 twice. It denotes the fact that they have
garnered one of the lowest numbers of votes twice already. Also, based on
performances not only tonight and last night (4th performance night) but during previous weeks as well,
Modesto is definitely better. But to my surprise, he was sent home first by Gary
V. and then third by Charice. Martin didn’t have to vote anymore because
Modesto got three votes, enough for an exit.

I skipped the second because it was
the most shocking of all. Pilita, Modesto’s own group’s mentor actually voted
him out. I don’t know if it was the first time ever in the history of the
entire X Factor franchise but it certainly is new for the X Factor Philippines.
Although I’m not a fan of Modesto and I actually doubted why he was chosen
among the top 20 finalists to begin with, tonight I had a change of heart.
Based on the pointers I’ve mentioned above, he doesn’t deserve to go the way
Mark Mabasa didn’t either during the 2nd results night.
Whatever the case is, it’s already
done. No deadlock and no undecided mentor/judges tonight. They were all firm in
this shocking revelation of sending home Modesto for the X Factor Philippines
results night week 4.
