It has been announced on TV Patrol
just yesterday, September 25, 214 that “Be Careful With My Heart,” one of the
most successful long-running daytime television dramas in ABS-CBN will air its
final episode on November 28, 2014. The announcement received mixed reactions
from avid viewers and critics.
Be Careful With
My Heart’s longevity and high ratings is due to the successful tandem of Jodi
Sta. Maria and Richard Yap. The unlikely pairing had been received warmly by viewers who patronized the show through the years ever since it premiered on
July 9, 2012.
The noontime
drama is considered to be the first television drama of ABS-CBN shot in high
definition. The show is being aired as well worldwide through The Filipino
Channel.

Be Careful With My Heart is a simple
story about love, family, Filipino values, marriage, conflicts and resolutions,
and hope amidst death and infirmities. Jodi Sta. Maria played the role of Maya
dela Rosa, a simple girl who dreams of becoming a flight attendant, but ended up
as a maid and a nanny because of unfortunate events, to Richard Yap who played the role of Richard
Lim or simply known as Sir Chief. Maya became a part of the Lim household and thus involved the lives of
Richard and his three children: Luke (Jerome Ponce), Nikki (Janella Salvador)
and Abby (Mutya Orquia). The story had a surprising twist when Maya and Sir Chief fell
in love to the delight of avid viewers, ended to marriage and even led to
the birth of their twins Sky and Sunshine.
The show became the talk of town and
their amazing tandem became a viral trend to different social networking sites.
Although there were criticisms that
circulated when after the wedding episode, ABS-CBN announced the intention to
continue the story until December of this year. Critics stated how the show is
becoming so predictable and the pacing is so slow, obviously just prolonging it
for the advertisers’ sake.
The negative critics had been
gracefully addressed by Sta. Maria and Yap stating that the bashers are
entitled to their own opinions. The goal of the show is to bring joy and
happiness to viewers and that they are so thankful for the consistently high
ratings and for supporters who never get tired of supporting the show.
