It was the last night of our trip to Palawan and we had arrived in Puerto Princesa from El Nido just in time for dinner. Kinabuchs Grill and Bar was packed that time. In one of my earlier post, I mentioned how it's easy to spot a good dining place - people and vehicles parked. So we drove back to this restaurant after dropping by the LRC 908 Market Mall for pasalubong.
The restaurant has a very spacious dining area with numerous seating available for large groups. There are also TV sets placed in every section.
Back to the food, our group became 10 at El Nido and so the dinner became a feast of everyone's varying taste in food.

Other than the crocodile dish, the star of the night was the tamiloc (last image above). It's a local delicacy consisting of kinilaw (raw with vinegar and calamansi) wood worm. Almost everyone in the group had their game face on and tried a piece of the dish. I did too. For me, it wasn't that bad. It tasted like talaba with a gooey chewy feel. The others were obviously disgusted and cursed the reason why wood worms are being disturbed to become meals.
Other than tamiloc, another must try is lamayo. Don't worry, it's a stomach friendlier delicacy made from marinated dried danggit (premium type of daing) which you can buy in almost all stores around Puerto Princesa City.
Kinabuchs Grill and Bar is located in 369 Rizal Avenue, Puerto Princesa City Palawan.
