Picnic Grove in Tagaytay have long been available for the public before Sky Ranch was even built but I've only been to this place recently. And there are numerous activities everyone can do here; no wonder why groups of families and friends flock this place during weekends and holidays. So here are some things you can do while inside the vicinity of Picnic Grove:
Walk Around
The simplest activity will be to walk around. You can brisk walk or even jog and run around the uneven terrain if you feel like doing so after parking your vehicle and paying at the admin office.
Meditate
Bring a yoga mat or any other covering you can place under a shade and start meditating. Breathe in and breathe out through a refreshing breeze.
A View of Taal
My favorite area is an elevated viewing deck overlooking Taal Lake and Taal volcano. There are also numerous other sections where you can see the same scenic spots. Although it's not allowed, there are barkers who are sometimes waiting at the deck, offering a trip to the Taal Volcano crater. We went through an unexpected journey to the crater when we met a boat man waving a sign board along the road, while heading back to Metro Manila.
Picture Picture!
Bring your camera, tripod, and selfie sticks for numerous spots for pictures.
Zipline
I'm not really a fan of zipline or any other extreme adventure, but if you are, you can try two spots for ziplining within Picnic Grove.
Horse Back Riding
Another activity which I don't like but is popular among kids and teens is horse back riding. Three kids who were with kids us that time all enjoyed the horse ride.
Picnic
The most popular activity here is of course, picnicking. Numerous sheds are available for free. Just bring your own food and make sure to clean the area before leaving.
Shopping for Souvenir
You can shop for souvenir at stalls near the picnic sheds before heading home. But it's cheaper when you buy stuff through stores close to the gate.
