Even after years and several trips back, Picnic Grove at Tagaytay is still a top weekend getaway in my list. After all, it takes just 2 hours or less to get there and the number of activities to enjoy is growing.
Picnic Grove Activities
To start with, you can enjoy adventure related activities like horseback riding, zip lines, and more.
Most families visiting the park during weekends and holidays, bring their own food to enjoy picnics through the sheds.
Koorah Koorah Restaurant
You can also dine through restaurants located inside and outside the park. These fresh seafood dishes were from Koorah Koorah. The resto is right infront of the main entrance gate.
Food here is good. The menu is slightly pricy though but that's expected since the area is flocked by tourists.
After a hearty meal, I personally love walking around the park's premises, to aid digestion.
Shop around the local stalls for souvenirs too. It becomes less obligatory to do that though if you've been to the place countless times, unless someone specifically asked you to buy something here.
Tagaytay Weather
Most visitors, both regulars and newcomers will probably agree that the weather here is the best reason to come back.
Picnic Grove View
Aside from that, I sure never miss to enjoy the view. The following images were taken from the view deck at Picnic Grove.
From afar, Taal volcano is visible, along with Taal lake.
Getting there requires a different route. Driving on a DIY mode may not be ideal if you're not familiar with the roads. So it's actually better to get help from local tour guides. You'd spot them along the way with their placards.
A boat ride will take you to the hiking trails. You can walk or ride a horse. There's actually a community downhill so it's not an isolated location.
Tagaytay View
Other locations where you can snap photos of the Taal Lake and Taal Volcano include Sky Ranch and restaurants within the area.
Side Trip
One other thing that's awesome about Tagaytay are side trips. There are nearby popular destinations you can drop by to before or after, like Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Good Shepherd Tagaytay
There are numerous establishments you for souvenirs and local delicacies too. One of which is that famous Good Shepherd store. Their ube jam tastes like Mountain Maid from Baguio City. It's located in Bahay Pastulan, Sta. Rosa Rd, Brgy. Francisco, Tagaytay.
The south keeps on evolving and new places are sprouting everywhere but Tagaytay will surely continue to be one of the best places to visit just outside Metro Manila. All generations, both young and old from all walks of life will definitely enjoy visiting.
