Adriano's Restaurant in Calasiao, Pangasinan brings the buffet experience north of the Philippines while keeping Filipino dishes the highlight of the menu.
Menu
Dishes served are generally Filipino or some foreign cuisine adapted to the Pinoy style of cooking. Menu may vary depending on what ingredients are available during the season but you will definitely expect a combination of meat, vegetable and seafood based dishes along with dessert.
Here are some snapshots of the menu available during our visit.
Plain and Java rice below and some merienda above. Bilo-bilo or our local dessert made of glutinous rice balls and fruits in coconut milk (right). The other dessert is sugar coated crunchy sweet potato chips.
Ensaladang talong (eggplant salad) which comes with tomatoes, okra, onion and bagoong; and fried eggplant with soy sauce dip:
Fish dishes like breaded fish fillet, sweet and sour fish and more:
Crispy crablets (small crabs) on the left:
Veggie meals including chop suey (on the far right):
Most of the entree are meat based such as beef steak (far right) in the image below.
Kare-kare (left) is meat in peanut sauce.
Igado, made from pork tenderloin and liver
Patatim or braised pork leg on the far right:
Lechon kawali (middle) or crispy fried pork is commonly served during special occasions in the Philippines.
Breaded chicken and lumpiang Shanghai; the latter is a basic Filipino dish, which is also almost always served in any local gathering.
While all the dishes are Filipino-friendly, this is definitely not for picky eaters and those who expect gourmet style.
Pricing and Hours
Unlike other buffet restaurants, lunch and dinner (including weekends and holidays) is served for the same price of ₱199. Pricing is subject to change.
They are open daily (except announced holidays) from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Ambiance
While the place is spacious (including parking), it may feel congesting, specially during weekends. I noticed that they keep accommodating diners even if there are no available seats. They may need to include a waiting area if they want to accept all guests.
Speaking of such a scenario, it's best to arrive early to be seated immediately.
